Tat-Dat Nguyen’s practice explores themes of migration, identity, memory, mythology, and mysticism, drawing influence from folk art, graphic arts, abstract expressionism, and surrealism. 

Born in Danang, Vietnam, Nguyen and his family were refugees following the Vietnam war. They immigrated to the USA where he earned a degree in painting from Arizona State University. Following university, he lived and worked in New York, Seattle, and Los Angeles. He currently lives in Vienna.
